✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • The fee for the group is $80 per session. Limited sliding scale spots may be available, dependent on how many people sign up for the group. If you require a lower fee, please email us to let us know you’re interested, and we will be happy to add you to the group should this option become available.

Payment for each session will be required at the time of the session.

  • The group is dependent on the attendance of all members for every session. Upon signing up, we require a commitment that you will attend all six sessions.

You will be required to have a credit card on file, and you will be charged for each session at the time of the session.

  • Anything discussed in the group will remain confidential with your co-facilitators, and confidentiality will be laid out as an expectation of all members. That being said, there are limits to confidentiality in a group setting, as there is no absolute guarantee of privacy when sharing with others.

  • This group is a queer-affirming space, welcoming individuals from every stage of the queer experience. Whether you’re in the process of questioning, self-discovery, coming out, or living proud, you are welcome.

If you identify as queer, trans, or questioning, reside in Canada, and are over the age of 18, the group may benefit you.

Queering Care is a support group intended to create a dedicated space to care for yourself and strengthen your caring skills. Showing up and committing to attending is an act of care in and of itself, but you can expect to learn more and gain more insight into what care can look like for you, and how to maintain it.

The group is designed for individuals who are able to commit to attending all six sessions. If your schedule or finances throughout the timeline of the group are uncertain, we recommend waiting until you can fully commit before registering.

  • This group is designed to foster a sense of community, however we encourage group members to avoid dual relationships with other members of the group throughout the course of the group. Since group therapy can be a vulnerable experience, pre-existing interpersonal dynamics are discouraged. This means that we recommend that your fellow group members are people you only interact with in the group setting. After completion of the group, you are more than welcome to engage with your group members in whatever way you please.

If you have a friend who would like to attend a similar group, we recommend having them email us to get on the waitlist for our next group!

  • To sign up, please register for the “Queering Care - An LGBTQ2IA+ Support Group” on our booking website. The group will be visible under Em’s booking profile. You will only need to register for Session 1, taking place on June 15th, to register for the entire program.
