MIKE (HE/HIM)
There is a deep privilege in being invited into someone’s inner world—to sit alongside them as a fellow traveller as they navigate the complexities of life and the journey of knowing oneself. I believe that therapy offers a space to slow down, to feel more fully, and to make sense of our experiences with care and intention.
My name is Mike (he/him), and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I am passionate about supporting individuals within the 2SLGBTQ+ community, those with intersecting identities, and individuals navigating the unique challenges of cultural identity. As a queer, Cantonese-speaking Chinese Canadian, I understand how difficult it can be to find a therapist who holds a shared baseline understanding of what it means to live as a sexual minority while also navigating family, culture, and societal expectations.
I intend to create a space where you can be who you are, explore who you want to be and share what you feel in the moment.
I work with individuals navigating life transitions, grief and loss, identity exploration, and questions around meaning and purpose. I also support clients experiencing anxiety, stress, and challenges within relationships.
I strive to be client-centered, trauma-informed, and affirming. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, and Existential Therapy, with particular attention to the connection between mind and body. I aim to cater our work together to your unique needs, moving at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.
In my own time, I enjoy exploring cozy and creative hobbies—from playing Nintendo Switch games to journaling and collecting stickers. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in student affairs, the tech startup space, and as a freelance project manager. These experiences continue to shape how I understand stress, transitions, and the many roles we hold in our lives.
If you feel that my approach resonates with you, I would be honoured to connect and support you in your journey toward growth, healing, and self-understanding.
