MARTHA (SHE/THEY)

Life is all about creating balance. What does that look like for you?

At the centre of my approach to therapy is cultivating a deep connection with one’s core identity and values, and using those as a foundation to build the life you desire—with patience and compassion for each person’s unique set of strengths and challenges.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with other LGBTQ+ folks across various intersections. As a queer Asian woman and transracial adoptee, I bring my own lived experience navigating mental health, gender and cultural identity, relationships and family, existential questions, and feelings of otherness; I'd be honoured to learn from you about your experiences.

I strive to create a safe space that is culturally responsive, identity-affirming, and anti-oppressive. I value an integrative approach that is co-created with each client. My practice is informed by Psychodynamic principles, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Family Systems theory.

Whether you’re unsure where to begin or you already have ideas you'd like to bring into therapy, we’ll explore topics and treatments that resonate with you—together.

Alongside pursuing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, I’ve had the privilege of working with women and queer-identifying adult survivors of CSA for over two years as a volunteer support group facilitator. Before immersing myself in the mental health field, I completed a Bachelor of Design in Advertising and worked as a freelance art director, graphic designer, and photographer.

Other things that fill me with joy and purpose include: meticulously planning dinner parties, curling up with my cat, cycling everywhere I can, spending quality time with my loved ones, and reconnecting with my inner child.

If anything here resonates with you, I invite you to reach out for a consultation to see if we’d be a good fit.
